June Gloom Doesn’t Keep Beach Bums Away in Del Mar Ca
Leave a Comment
We North San Diego County locals know that "June Gloom", the dreaded weather pattern in which a thick marine layer hovers over the coastal strip, actually begins in May ("May Grey") and often extends well into July (no colloquialism for it yet in July). It can be perfectly clear and sunny half a mile inland — an ideal day for the beach — but after you get all excited, pack up the car and head west, you realize the marine layer is blocking all hope of a sun-kissed afternoon in the sun! That didn’t keep Powerhouse Park by the beach in Del Mar California from filling up on this lazy Sunday, the day after the 4th of July.
